Description: Scrapbook made and donated by Eileen Skaife from 1954, containing material from the Mystery Plays production of that year.  It contains 32 pages, mostly of press cuttings and photos from newspapers.  
Front cover: Image of York from Bootham Bar taken from a line drawing used by the York Festival
Inside front cover: Programme of the Festival of the Arts, running from June 13 to July 4.  That programme includes Benjamin Britten conducting his own opera 'The Rape of Lucretia'  on 30 June at the Theatre Royal.
At the back is a letter to Miss Skaife  from Alderman Bellerby as Chairman of York Festival Society, thank her for her role as a volunteer in the 1954 Festival.

The scrapbook contains a leaflet with prices of all Festival tickets.  Mystery Play tickets cost from 15 shillings down to 3 shillings and 6 pence.  The most expensive seats were £1 in the Minster, for the Monteverdi Vespers and for the London Mozart Players .   Lectures were the cheapest at 2 shillings.
